It is important to care for your acrylic brush as this is your working tool throughout your nail extensions, if your brush is dirty or not looked after this can result in poorly finished looking nails.
Here at Next Step Beauty Training we aim to provide as much information and guidance to all therapists, nail extensions and salon owners across the UK.
Here are some pointers that our highly qualified and experienced educators have put together to give you some guidance when working within the industry,
1- Acrylic brushes should be cleaned in the liquid monomer before, during and after use.
2- If acrylic becomes stuck in the acrylic brush then you can soak the brush in acetone for up to 10 minutes this can weaken the bristles and you should avoid doing this too often.
3- Avoid touching the acrylic brush bristles with fingers as this can place oils and residue on the bristles causing lifting of the acrylic
4- Brushes should be stored with protective covers on them again to prevent dust and residue from getting on the bristles
5- We recommend that all brushes are stored laying on their side flat as this will stop the liquid monomer in the bristles from rusting the metal section on the brush which can cause nails to discolour when using
These points are here for guidance for therapists, nail technicians and salon owners however if you have any further questions or are experiencing problems with acrylic nails then please contact Next Step Beauty and will do our very best to answer all questions.
